I think I remember somebody saying a few months ago that some kind company was producing brake shoes for old caliper brakes that required now-obsolete designs of brake shoe. It sounded implausible (wouldn't boutique brake shoes have to be priced higher than entirely new brakes?), but I'd like to investigate. Unfortunately I remember no more (not even who it was who told me this). Can anyone help?
If this is as impossible/expensive as I imagine, I'll buy new brakes, of course. (Ancient though the frame is, it will take today's caliper brakes -- unless I understand even less than I think I do. And yes, I would check the reach.)
