Today I went to Blue Lug in Kamiura. (I'd never been to any branch. I'd never been to any similar store. Are bike stores in Portland like this?) I found a handsome (if unnecessarily large) frame bag. It cost 36,000. Ha ha, no thanks.
Then I found a smaller one ("Fairweather") for 7,200. If this frame bag came from Uniqlo it would cost 2,000; but it doesn't so I put Uniqlo out of my mind and coughed up the cash. Unsurprisingly, it's designed for top tubes shorter than mine, so I'll attach its rear end to the seat tube and its front end will clear the shifters, even on my lower frame.
Pity that Dill Pickle doesn't offer frame bags, but perhaps they (she) will by the time I've decided that today's purchase is impossible after all. (Yes, I'm a bit pessimistic about bags!)
